CEO Meet & Greet in Alaska

The Challenge

As the CEO’s visit was scheduled, T&C had just recently won Royal Caribbean Group’s business through an RFP. With a short turnaround to learn about the group’s three cruise lines, partnerships and Alaska plans, T&C had an expedited timeline to organize an event with Royal Caribbean Group, its partners and Alaska tourism leaders.

The Approach

T&C provided counsel on the guest list for a meet and greet planned onboard a ship, worked through logistics of boarding and assisted with making introductions between Royal Caribbean Group personnel and Alaska tourism leaders.

Event Planning

T&C was responsible for distributing invitations to Royal Caribbean Group’s partners, Alaska tourism professionals and local legislators to ensure the CEO visit made the highest impact. T&C also managed RSVPs and adhered to COVID-19 cruise ship boarding protocols. T&C designed event signage, organized a land acknowledgement from a local Alaska Native corporation president and facilitated photo and video gathering of the CEO and event attendees.

Media Relations

With Royal Caribbean Group being newer to the Alaska cruise market and the tourism sector rebounding from uncertainties from the COVID-19 pandemic, news media were invited to attend the event. T&C sent pitches to local journalists and invited them to participate in the meet and greet, conduct one-on-one interviews with the CEO and interview attendees about the cruise season. Stories were secured in local and national markets.

Staffing

To ensure that invited guests had a seamless boarding experience, T&C provided on-site staffing at the event in Juneau. Once a guest arrived at the dock, they were greeted and escorted inside to the event by a T&C team member. Once inside, T&C made introductions between local tourism business owners and Royal Caribbean Group staff members.
